So with my trip to London, I booked my return ticket so that I would be back in time to start a residency in screen printing at The Carousel. When I booked the tickets I hadn't heard back, but I was manifesting it happening and so booked them as such because I knew it had to happen and whilst away I did indeed hear back that I had been selected as part of the first cohort!
This is awesome as I have done a screen printing workshop years ago at The Carousel and it is something I really enjoy and at the moment I am really enjoying experimenting with my artistic practice. As part of this 3 week residency I get to use the studio facilities as well as receiving training in screen printing and riso graphs. I also get to do online training in Photoshop and Lightroom. Super excited about this and I love the guys at The Carousel, they are such supportive and helpful people!
During my time at the studio, I experiment with using my photography as a basis for screen printing. I work with some bat and elephant photos of mine to create some prints and canvas bags as well as using a photo of zebras and my sister to create some fun risograph prints. For the elephants and bats I go a little Jackson Pollock splashing paints on the screen to create some colourful prints.
