Looking After The Conch
Wow, so been in Greece almost 2 months now looking after Conchito. Was a bit of a tough start as something was seriously triggering my allergies. Since mum passed I seem to be allergic to histamines as well as pollen ☹ Some people say it could be psychosomatic…who knows, but is frustrating having my face be so puffy and not being able to enjoy a glass of wine.
Whilst here in Greece, it has been so good catching up with old friends and getting to eat tasty food. Greek food and the freshness of vegetables and fish just hits differently. Enjoyed going to the Vive Le Punk festival with my friend Zoe, I hadn't been to a punk gig in a long time. I of course got stuck in and got in the mosh pit! Back in High School I loved rock and metal and regularly was in a mosh pit…
As well as that gig, when my sister got back from her yoga retreat we went to the Mobb Deep gig which was fun. We have been to so many good hip hop gigs over the years and so great to add another to the list. I have had a great time here in Greece however despite my original wish to move over here this year, I have had a job offer in the UK for the summer so I am heading back.
I will though move here eventually… though some of my friends here really don't believe I ever will as I have been saying it for years. Problem is the job market in Greece is tough and people are on super low wages for the amount of work they do. But I will come here and figure it out. I am definitely done with the UK long term.
