This week is fun and busy, back on site which is great for more field work which keeps me busy and happy. Also went to a friends birthday party in London, en route to site. Parked up in Chiswick with the van then got the tube into London for the party. Was interesting being in the area again, as back in 2009 my mum lived round here and we worked at a pub alongside the river with her and lots of our friends. Was a fun time back then and brings back a lot of memories being here.

After the party, I head off west for some bat surveys. This week I am working on the railway line for one of the bat trapping surveys, which has meant lots of H&S training to do – need to be track aware even if they stop the trains coming through – and even though the bat survey itself was a little dull, it was very cool getting to work along a trainline. Whilst numbers of bats were low, we did at least get a few bats which we will be radio tracking over the next week to understand how they are using the tunnel.
In between site work, I pop up to Nottingham also as it is my cousins birthday, so I go and spend a few nights with her. I couldn't resist whilst being in Nottingham and ended up wearing orange on my night out! Just to involved with this PPE at the moment it would seem, got to represent even when out of work heehee. Once I get back to site on the Sunday, it is straight back out for the evening and my colleague and I head out for roost checks and emergence surveys that evening.
