Isa B finally made it back with Conchito, though not without drama. They got stuck in Calais after a rabies certificate issue meant Concho needed new paperwork before being allowed to travel. So they had to visit French vets to get it sorted and stay some extra days. Dad then drove out to Calais to pick them up once everything was cleared, as her friend had to continue the journey and couldn't stay the extra days. I then headed down to London to collect them both and bring them back up to Nottingham. Proper tag team effort. Slightly chaotic, slightly exhausting, but also one of those family moments where everyone just steps up. Concho is now fully international and you can follow his adventures at @concho_about_town.

Then Omicron swept in and work dried up almost overnight for me with this agency. As no one really back out it means events cancelled, shifts disappeared, as Christmas parties got cancelled and everything felt locked down again in a different way. Just as momentum was building, it stalled. Still, we had a good Christmas in the end, I managed to see family from both sides, Nottingham and York which felt grounding after such a stop-start year. Even in the uncertainty, there were small pockets of togetherness that mattered.
