OMG. I cannot believe I worked at Silverstone for the Grand Prix. I love F1 and this was an absolutely cool opportunity that I randomly got through chatting to a chef via some agency work I have been doing. Absolutely buzzing.

The work was hard not going to lie. Started in the kitchen at 6am every day and worked through until 6pm, serving fancy food in the hospitality suites right next to the British Racing Drivers' Club. In the evenings there were various bands on, though beyond Example I cannot say I knew many of them.

But I was not really there for the music. I was there for the F1 and I had the most perfect spot to watch it, a balcony connected to the kitchen with a brilliant view of the track. Sunday came and I watched the whole race from up there. The fact that I was feeling absolutely terrible by that point. So did half the team. The fact that we only started feeling terrible right as the final food went out before the race is a minor detail. Turned out we had caught covid. We pushed through and it was totally worth it.

Came home and collapsed obviously and stayed as far away from mum as possible so as not to give her covid. Somehow, she and Isabella never caught it from me. I did isolate as much as possible and sprayed anything I touched!

But despite that, the Nottingham summer has felt full in the best way. Busy streets, warm evenings, that sense that something is always happening if you just say yes to it. I also DJed for Fiona Hannon's solo exhibition at Mimm which I was so stoked to be involved with. Getting to shape the soundtrack for someone's exhibition is a real privilege. I am honestly loving how many gigs are coming in and with each one I am building confidence, refining my sound, expanding my network.

And alongside all of that I have started a new job! Still early days and still unfolding but I am now officially an employee at the Bat Conservation Trust. Super exciting. Watch this space.
