So I have decided to do a fundraiser in honour of mum. I had seen that Pancreatic Cancer UK was doing a sponsored walk last year which is what sparked my interest and as they are running it again this year I thought it would be a nice tribute to mum.
The funeral took place at Wilford Hill Crematorium on Friday 29th November 2024 followed by a Wake-Exhibition from at 35 Gamble Street...
The interesting thing is Nottingham still feels like a space to rethink, recalibrate and quietly ask what’s next. When I first moved up here in 2012 I was fresh out of University having done my bachelors and I feel like I am back again like I was then.
Gutted there were no fireworks this year on the Forest Recreation Ground and also… no Goose Fair! The absence of these familiar markers make everything feel strangely suspended...
Perhaps this is the turning point. For years, I understood the theory, I did the research, I looked into the ingredients, the system. But now it becomes practice without compromise...
Finding out a loved one has cancer causes a whole mix of emotions. Shock, fear, grief and confusion. You want to try and be positive for the person but you also don’t want to over do that.
