Back to Malawi in just a few days but this time I will keep you updated with what I am up to! Earlier this month I ran a bat walk and talk for Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust at the Idle Valley NR which I always love doing. They are a great way of engaging with the public and also getting new members involved in the Group! Thankfully my car lasted until after that to break down… Sadly on my way to work one morning (and when giving Bill a lift in) my little bat mobile has decided to pack it in! Terrible timing as always for cars to go wrong but I will deal with it when I am back from Malawi!

In more fun news, I had my big 3-0 birthday celebrations here in Nottingham before going away with lots of friends and family. Went to The Walton followed by bars in town. It was so great to see my cousin Maria and her fella Mark who came down from York. Of course all me Notts cousins were here too. Then before jetting off I spent a couple of days with my dad and we went for some birthday drinks at Bokan which has fabulous views from its roof terrace of London! As much as I am glad I am out of the big smoke, I do miss these fab views and all the great roof top bars. Notts just doesn’t have a good selection of rooftop places…
