Super excited this week as I won the British Ecological Society Instagram Photography Competition, I thought I would enter just to see as I have been wondering whether my photos are worthy of entering competitions and so I was delighted to win! Woop woop. I took the photo that won a while back on the way back from a bat survey. My friend was driving when I noticed fox cubs on the side of the road and got him to stop so I could take photos!

This last week, I have been spending time with my good friend Parisa on her allotment, which has been really nice, as I miss my veggie patch I had back in Malawi. I love gardening and growing but we have such a tiny tiny garden at my mums place in Nottingham so no planting for me, we literally get no sun so this is a welcomed activity in the sun. We also had a jam outdoors for Acoustickle’s Isoulation sessions before heading over to her place for some delicious Iranian BBQ.

I am so glad that things are opening back up again and happy that Notts Street Food is running again, so a bunch of us headed down to eat some tasty food. I actually had the vegan burger by 13th Element and oh my gosh was it fabulous! Being vegan it also meant I could have extra cheese and it not bother me. Delicious. The other thing I have been loving at the moment are the Tiny Desk sessions, how have I never heard of them before! Loving the Anderson Paak, Mac Miller and Lizzo ones 😊

It has been great seeing people these last few weeks and getting out the house more, almost feels like the world is getting back to normality. I also travelled down to London to see my dad as it was his birthday. Went to a lovely Indian restaurant for his birthday meal and a pub or two for a few beers. It was weird being in London and getting on the Underground which was empty! Very surreal. Was great seeing my dad but happy to be back in Nottingham again where you can just pretty much walk everywhere and a much smaller city.
