August has been a hectic one, left my job at FPCR and it was sad saying goodbye to everyone but I have been since working on some fun freelance projects round London which means just field work and no office work. I have been radio tracking and trapping pretty much and getting paid for it! Whilst in London I catch with Priya, a friend from Nottingham, great going out with her and hearing how life in London is for her now! Isabella joins us after her show also which is fab seeing her too!

This month, I also went out trapping with James Shipman down in Bath as part of a swarming project and I got to meet some of #TeamMalawi which was super cool. One of his trainees, Tom is going to be the Senior Research Assistant and Sophie is one of Emma’s masters students from University of West of England. Joan also joined me from Notts Bat Group and he has just been given the job as Research Assistant! Really excited about starting later this year! I also got to handle my first Serotine bat so extra awesome!

The big event this month though was Ben and Gina’s wedding, or should I say hand fastening which took place in the magical Sherwood Forest. The day (and night) was fantastic and so much planning had gone into their big day. They both looked fab and Gina was a stunning bride! I can’t believe these two are so grown up it is so beautiful to see them together and taking this next step in life. they are two of the most lovely people I have met here in the ‘Shire and in fact Ben was one of the first people I met here in Nottingham. Too many years of happiness for you both! ? So many good friends were there, some of which I had not seen in a few years, so it was another great opportunity to catch up with people before my departure in a few months time…
